Although Michael works with all levels of players on all aspects of the game, he is primarily known as a putting coach. He has read over thirty different books on putting including those written by Bobby Locke, Horton Smith, Willie Park, Ben Crenshaw, Dave Stockon, Walter Travis, George Low, Ray Cook, Stan Utley and the first instructional book ever written by H.B. Farnie in 1857.
